ABD-RU-SHIN, whose civil name was Oskar Ernst
Bernhardt, was born on April 18, 1875 in Bischofswerda, Germany. At the urging
of his parents, he was educated as a businessman. But the turning-point of his
early manhood was his decision to leave his business career in favor of pursuing
artistic activity: he became a writer and a playwright. He also turned his
attention to scriptwriting. Among his scripts were the adaptations of
Dostoyevsky's "Crime and Punishment" and "Brothers Karamazov". Evidenced by
these scripts is his deep concern for those human beings, who were seeking the
Truth in a profound, introspective and almost desperate manner.
In the years preceeding WW I, his writing career
took him around the globe, where he personally experienced the many cultures of
the world. On his return to Europe in 1914, he was interned on the Isle of Man
until 1919. Under these conditions, Abd-ru-shin gradually became aware that he was to deliver to mankind the
immense Knowledge, which contains explanations of the Laws of Creation governing
human destiny. He began writing his life's work "IN THE LIGHT OF TRUTH: THE
GRAIL MESSAGE" ("IM LICHTE DER WAHRHEIT: GRALSBOTSCHAFT") and later settled in a
mountainous region in Tyrol, Austria, where he continued to write. His book is
intended for serious seekers only, as it challenges them and shakes them to the
very depth of their being.
When the Nazis invaded Austria on March 12, 1938,
Abd-ru-shin was arrested on the very same day. His property was confiscated, he
was forbidden any further publication of his Grail Message and for several years
he was kept under house arrest by the Gestapo. As a consequence of these
measures, Abd-ru-shin departed this earth prematurely on December 6, 1941. "IN
THE LIGHT OF TRUTH: THE GRAIL MESSAGE" is his legacy to mankind, in
which all serious seekers can discover for themselves the actual origin and identity
of Abd-ru-shin's personality.
